Joy-Con problemen blijken ook na update van Switch aanwezig te zijn

Onlangs doken er al berichten op dat er problemen zijn met de Joy-Cons van de Switch. Mogelijk zou dit opgelost worden met de update die de Switch meteen bij de launch krijgt, dat blijkt echter niet het geval.

Vorige week doken er berichten op dat er een probleem zou zijn met de linker Joy-Con tijdens het spelen van The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Deze zou soms niet goed synchroniseren met de Switch en zorgt er daardoor voor dat bewegingen niet worden opgepikt. De controllers kunnen soms input van de speler niet goed overbrengen als er dingen in de weg staan. De website Digital Foundry heeft nu bevestigd dat de problemen niet zijn opgelost na het installeren van de eerste systeem update van de Switch. Digital Foundry heeft Nintendo inmiddels benaderd. Het kan goed mogelijk zijn dat de problemen spoedig alsnog worden opgelost middels een update.

The Nintendo Switch’s day one system update has launched, and there are reports online that installing the patch with the Joy-Cons attached updates the firmware on the controllers, resolving the de-sync issues. Is this really the case? Unfortunately not. We’ve updated our console with controllers attached and re-run the battery of tests detailed below. In all cases, the range and consistency of the connection of each Joy-Con remains the same, and the left controller still has demonstrably weaker range than the right. Eurogamer has contacted Nintendo several times now concerning this issue, and we still await a reply.
